This place stinks!
Most of us have stayed in ‘rubbish hotels’, but now there's a real one: a hotel in Rome made entirely out of 12000 kilos of rubbish. It's the amount of waste deposited on average on just 3 kilometres of Europe's beaches every year. Online you'll find a website explaining what was involved; a video clip of the hotel; a Daily Mail article about it; and another clip where model Helena Christensen describes spending the night there.
You could obviously use it to talk about responsibility to the environment, but there are lots of parables hiding in there too: how we build rubbish lives for ourselves; how Jesus takes our rubbish and builds us into something useful; living with the consequences of selfishness... use your imagination!
